Keen Eddie

Summary:

Brash opinionated and streetwise, transplanted New York narcotics detective Eddie Arlette (Mark Vally) is not exactly a perfect fit with the refined gents of England’s Scotland Yard. Nonetheless, Eddie is determined to redeem himself after the botched drug bust that send him across the Atlantic, so it’s goodbye Big Apple, Hello Big Ben. And when his buttoned-up London colleagues find nothing remotely admirable about the down-on-his-luck detective’s unorthodox law enforcement techniques, Eddie’s offered a permanent job on the force. From Regent’s Park to Trafalgar Square, Keen Eddie is on the prowl. Lord help the British Empire… and God save the Queen!

Episode 01 – “Pilot” (A.K.A Eddie)

New York City narcotics detective Eddie Arlette (Mark Vally) makes a critical blunder, allowing a massive shipment of drugs to make its way onto the streets of Europe. Sent to London to clean up the mess, Eddie finds that the flat he has rented is still occupied by the owner’s annoying owner, Fiona (Sienna Miller). But at Scotland Yard, he manages to impress both Superintendent Johnson (Colin Salmon) and his straight-laced partner. Detective Monty Pippin (Julian Rhind-Tutt). Against all odds. Eddie is offered a permanent position with the famed British law enforcement agency.

Episode 02 – “Horse Heir”

Partners Eddie Arlclette and Monty Pinn trot off on a new case when a prized racehorse, “Hurricane,” is stolen and their investigation reaches a dead end. However, a break in the case comes from an unlikely and unwelcome source – Eddie’s old “friend”, Rudy (Alexci Sayle). Using Rudy as a lure, Eddie and Pippin set a trap to try to nab the horse thieves.

Episode 03 – “Achtung Baby”

Eddie is assigned to act as a bodyguard to a famed German opera star who is performing in London. The bad news is that Eddie hates the opera, and the diva has taken a romantic liking to the brash detective. The worse news is that the opera star has attracted a stalker who is trying to kill her!

Episode 04 – “Eddie Loves Baseball”

Eddie becomes the most hated man in the United Kingdom when he detains famed soccer superstar Colin Kinney (James Murray) following an incident involving an accidental shooting. With Kinney remaining mum on what exactly happened, Eddie and Pippin dig deeper into the case and discover the starling reason behind the sports star’s reluctance to cooperate with the detectives.

Episode 05 – “Sucker Punch”

Eddie and Pippin’s investigation of an underground”fight club: reveals the sinister guidelines behind the sparring contests – and results in a painful bruising for Eddie. Meanwhile, Eddie’s exasperating roommate, Fiona, has decided to follow her boyfriend Nigel (Theo Fraser Steele) to a new life across the Atlantic in New York City.

Episode 06 – “The Amazing Larry Dunn”

Larry Dunn (Julian Kerridge), a former child prodigy who’s gifted with an amazing photographic memory, gets mixed up with a gang of thieves who are planning a stunning jewel heist. Eddie and Pippin become aware of the scheme, but when it comes to identifying the suspects, Larry’s magnificent memory somehow suddenly fails him!

Episode 07 – “Black Like Me”

Eddie is perplexed by a seemingly racist remark made by “superintendent Johnson during the course of an investigation involving a case that spawns one too many suspects. Eddie must also contend with trouble at home., in the form of roommate Fiona’s insecurities regarding her relationship with her boyfriend Nigel.

Episode 08 – “Sticky Fingers”

A ring of pickpockets is plaguing London, snatching wallets from pedestrians and then forging new credit cards using victims’ names. Eddie and Pippin trace the ring back to the original mastermind behind the scheme who, oddly, is eager to take the fall for the rest of the gang.

Episode 09 – “Inciting Incident”

Eddie is baffled when he’s handed a case concerning two men who seem hell-bent on destroying on each others lives. Delving into their pasts, Eddie is amazed to discover that their entire vendetta swirls around the purchase of a simple train ticket.

Episode 10 – “Who Wants to Be in a Club That Would Have Me as a Member?”

A vicious hazing incident at an upscale, pretentious private school draws Eddie into a friendship with the young victim – a student who begins emulating the American detective in every respect, right down to his style of shoes.

Epsiode 11 – “Citizen Cecil”

When robbers wearing Duran Duran masks hit one of London’s most popular casinos and relieve a career criminal named Cecil of his coveted championship soccer tickets, Cecil goes ballistic and systematically hunts down each of the gang’s members. That’s when Eddie realizes he’s in pursuit of a criminal who’s preying on…other criminals!

Episode 12 – “Keeping Up Appearances”

Eddie finds out how the “other half” lives when he unexpectedly inherits both a Bentley automobile and a chauffeur from the estate of an elderly woman he once befriended. But when the elegant car is stolen, the perpetrator turns out to be none other than the woman’s troubled son!

Episode 13 – “Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité”

While on his morning buss commute, Eddie finds the wallet of an attractive French woman who was flirting with him moments earlier, before disembarking. Sensing that romance might possibly be in the air, Eddie decides to personally hand-deliver the wallet…and blunders right into the middle off a kidnapping caper involving the mysterious woman.
