Sienna Miller made to be Marian: Russell Crowe
Posted on May 7th, 2010 | Filled in: News & Rumors | With No Comments »

Robin Hood star Russell Crowe says Sienna Miller – the original choice to play Maid Marian in the new movie – would have been “fine” in the role.

Miller was ousted from the role to make way for Oscar winner Cate Blanchett.

Of the casting of his co star in the Ridley Scott-directed film, Crowe said: “The thing about is you can make a lot of assumptions but Ridley and had a certain confidence about Sienna because of instinct and frankly I would have trusted that instinct. Who knows how Sienna Miller adapted in company and how much she could rise, so I think she would have been fine.”

Crowe, who lives in Australia, also heaped praise on fellow Sydneysider Blanchett.
“Do I think Cate Blanchett is the most spectacular creature that ever walked the planet? Yes, I do,” he told Brisbane’s Courier Mail.

The Robin Hood movie is set to open the Cannes Film Festival on May 12.

It opens in cinemas worldwide later this month.
